Ingredients (材料)
1 bottle red wine (I recommend Cabernet Sauvignon)
1½ cup (300 ml) apple juice
½ (100 ml) cup brandy
¼ (50 ml) cup honey
1 apple
1 orange (leave the peel on!)
2 cinnamon sticks
5-7 whole cloves
3-4 anise pods
Instructions(作り方)
Chop your apple and orange into chunks and put in a large pot.
Add the spices, honey, brandy, apple juice, and wine to the pot and heat it over medium heat.
Just as it starts to boil turn down the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and let sit for about an hour so that the flavors can infuse.
Strain off the fruit and spices, pour into glasses to serve, and enjoy★
Notes(コツ・ポイント・注意点)
★Don't throw away that fruit! The fruit will become infused with the flavors of the mulled wine so save it in the fridge and serve it over ice cream or yogurt later (or just eat it). ★I usually store an leftover mulled wine by putting it back in the bottle the wine came in and keeping it in the fridge.
