Citrus Ginger White Mulled Wine

- 1 bottle of white wine (750 ml)
- 1 orange (leave the skin on)
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 1 cup (200 ml) apple juice
- ½ cup (100 ml) rum
- 2-4 tbsp honey (adjust to taste and dryness of the white you are using)
- 5 cloves
- 3 anise pods
- Peel the ginger, slice, and put it into a large pot.
- Slice the orange into bite size pieces (leave the skin on) and put it into the pot
- Add the wine, apple juice, rum, honey, and spices to the pot and heat it over medium heat.
- Just as it starts to boil turn down the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let sit for about an hour so that the flavors can infuse.
- Strain off the fruit and spices, pour into glasses to serve, and enjoy★
★I usually store an leftover mulled wine by putting it back in the bottle the wine came in and keeping it in the fridge.
